“Kudos allows me to efficiently disseminate my findings about wisdom beyond the limited range of specialists in my discipline and make my research more discoverable.”

Igor Grossmann, Ph.D., Director, Wisdom and Culture Laboratory, Associate Professor of Psychology, University of Waterloo, Canada

What is Kudos and how does Kudos benefit me?

Kudos is a sharing platform that provides tools for journal authors to explain, add links to, and share their work with a global network of researchers and a wider audience in a remarkably easy way. It is being supported by Hogrefe and is free of charge for researchers.

Using Kudos’ tools to explain and share your work will help drive citations and downloads of the article – as well as drawing attention to it among a wide audience. A recent study has shown that using Kudos’ tools is correlated with 23% higher usage of articles that have been explained und shared. It also allows you as an author to view metrics on your personal dashboard about how the article is being shared on social media.

Four simple steps will let you maximize the usage and impact of your publication. 15 minutes to impact:

  1. Explain your work and tell readers what it’s about and why it’s important.
  2. Enrich your publication by adding links to related materials.
  3. Share a link to your publication by email and social media.
  4. Measure the impact of your activities on your publication’s performance. Metrics shown on your personal dashboard can include publication views, full text downloads, social media shares and citations.

How is Hogrefe linked to Kudos?

Hogrefe is partnering with Kudos to provide this service for our journal authors. We supply Kudos with a list of journal article DOIs to facilitate linking these to your Kudos profile. Needless to say, it remains your choice whether you want to use this service and if so, how actively you want to use it.

What does Hogrefe’s involvement mean, at a practical level?

Next time you publish an article with us, you will receive an email inviting you to use Kudos to explain and share your work. If you don’t want to wait, you can already register now at www.growkudos.com to explain and share some of your existing publications.
