About the journal

Rorschachiana is the scientific publication of the International Society for the Rorschach. Its aim is to publish scientific work in the field for (and by) an international audience. The journal is interested in advancing theory and clinical applications of the Rorschach and other projective techniques, and research work that can enhance and promote projective methods. Published previously as a Yearbook, Rorschachiana is now, starting with volume 29 in 2008, appearing as a journal with 2 online issues per year and an annual print compendium. All papers published are subject to rigorous peer-review to internationally accepted standards by external reviewers and the Society’s Board of Assessors, working under the auspices of the experienced international editorial team.

Call for Nominations: Editor-in-chief position

Rorschachiana: Journal of the International Society for the Rorschach and Projective Methods

Sadegh Nashat, current Editor-in-Chief of Rorschachiana, journal of the International Society for the Rorschach and Projective Methods, will be finishing his term as Editor-in-Chief on July 31, 2018. We are beginning the search to identify a new Editor-in-Chief for the journal to start on August 1st, 2018.

Rorschachiana
is the scientific publication of the International Society of the Rorschach and Projective Methods. Its aim is to publish scientific work in the field for (and by) an international audience. The journal is interested in advancing theory and clinical applications of the Rorschach and other projective techniques, and research work that can enhance and promote projective methods. All papers published are subject to rigorous peer-review to internationally accepted standards by external reviewers and the Society’s Board of Assessors, working under the auspices of the experienced international editorial team. One issue per year is a special section on a current topic.

The successful candidate should be prepared to transition to the editorship between June 2018 and August 1st, 2018, and to begin receiving and processing manuscripts on July 1st, 2018. Criteria to be considered in selecting the Editor-in-Chief include:

  • Excellent expertise in the Rorschach test and other projective methods
  • Excellent knowledge of personality theory and research
  • Good track record of writing, reviewing, and editing manuscripts
  • Openness to both quantitative and qualitative research
  • Good understanding of the international context and ability to work cross culturally
  • Good track record of publications in the field
  • Regular contributions to events and workshops of international Rorschach societies
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Fluent in English. Proficiency in one of the other official languages of the ISR (French, Spanish, and/or Japanese) is desirable.

The Editor-in-Chief reports to the Publications Committee for a 4 to 8-year renewable term and has sole control of the content of the journal. The position comes with an annual stipend plus financial support for the operation of an editorial office. Interested candidates should provide a supporting statement, include a curriculum vitae, and the nominee’s brief statement regarding the future direction for the journal. Self-nominations are encouraged, as are nominations of members of underrepresented groups.

Deadline for receipt of nominations is May 7th, 2018.
